ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:

USF Innovative Education is an academic support unit that partners with USF's colleges to develop, market and recruit students into the university's most innovative programs. Services include online faculty development, online course design and development, program development, marketing, recruitment, admissions support and related services.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Technology & Project Manager is a professional communicator role responsible for leading a team of developers who are charged with developing and managing Innovative Education's marketing technology infrastructure as well as developing and managing custom web applications and digital assets.  This role is a key strategic position within the organization and requires experience planning, scheduling and monitoring the production schedule for marketing campaigns and special projects. The position will report to the Associate Director of Strategy and Operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Planning:  Define and clarify scope of new and existing projects, identify project stakeholders, establish clear project goals and determine metrics and key performance indicators to measure progress toward goals, produce a detailed project schedule, determine resources and budget, map risks, assign tasks to project team and establish communication strategy with stakeholders and project team.  Work closely with the account manager to develop and coordinate plans.

Technology Management: Lead the marketing technology team in developing and managing InEd's marketing technology infrastructure. Supervise and evaluate the staff, resources and technology budget.  Provide operational support to the Associate Director, Operations & Strategy of Innovative Education, by advising on appropriate online strategy, best online practices, and evaluating the external environment and competitive position of the organization and providing feedback.

Project Coordination:  Maintain and monitor project plans and schedules throughout lifecycle to ensure projects are completed on-time and on-budget.  Implement, manage, and configure project management software and tools (Asana, JIRA, etc.) to appropriately task team members and track project progress.  Chair and facilitate meetings were appropriate to establish clear communication channels with all project team members and stakeholders.

Develop Strategy: Take part in meetings to learn about upcoming projects and help develop strategy around them. Ensure project goals align with the organization's strategic mission and objectives.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in communication, public relations, technical writing, digital media, or related field, with four years of experience in related positions; or a Master's degree and two years of related experience.  Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

PREFERRED:
Preferred applicants will possess a bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field. 4+ years’ experience with technology software (CRM, marketing automation, or similar); 4+ years’ experience project management experience (or similar).  Experience with higher education preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING:

  • Must possess significant experience in developing websites, microsites and landing pages designed to drive sales.

  • Must possess knowledge of integrated marketing tactics, including audience identification and analysis, user experience design, digital production, analytics, search engine optimization, pay-per-click advertising, keyword identification and information architecture.

  • Must be able to create both static and dynamic web pages using web applications such as (but not limited to) HTML, DreamWeaver, Javascript, XML, ASP.NET, ColdFusion, PHP, and Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and Macromedia tools.

  • Must be proficient in the use of content management systems.

  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Must be proficient in the use of Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop and Acrobat.

  • Must possess a positive attitude, a collaborative spirit and a forward-thinking mindset.

  • Must possess the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, nimble, entrepreneurial environment with many cross-functional partners.
