Reporting to the Sr. Technology Specialist, the Technology Specialist for Public Services will serve as a primary contact and technical lead for routine enhancement, troubleshooting, training, and documentation for access-related systems including circulation, reserves, stacks maintenance, resource sharing, space management, and entry systems. The Technology Specialist will provide documentation and training about access services related systems for a variety of stakeholders including technologists and public services staff. This position will contribute to projects to implement new technologies and enhance and assess existing services. As a member of the Aleph Administrators group, this position will serve as a critical link between systems, technology specialists and Public Services staff throughout the NYU Division of Libraries and the Consortium.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience:
Minimum one year experience working in an access or technical services library department. Demonstrated interest in libraries and technology and the ability to work with moderately complex software, preferably library systems (ILS or resource sharing platforms). Demonstrated ability to manage projects and learn new skills quickly. Demonstrated ability to work with data analytical tools (i.e. Tableau, Excel or other).

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills; excellent planning and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and establish appropriate priorities; ability to work productively on cross-departmental teams. Demonstrated ability to document workflows and teach others.
