Position Title: Technology Specialist

Department: Office for Technology and Institutional Effectiveness

Supervisor: Technology Support Services Manager

Hours: Monday to Friday 12 - 8 p.m. 

General Purpose: 
Answers phone calls and provides support over the phone or with remote access tools. Troubleshoots software and hardware failures and identifies network problems when they relate to computers, printers or phones. Performs the installation, repair and preventative maintenance of I.T. equipment and related systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support end-users with IT-related problems in a responsive and service oriented manner

  • Assist with the troubleshooting, installation, implementation and support of hardware and systems

  • Receipt, deployment, and maintenance of IT-related equipment

  • Assist and support events that require information technology equipment: on-campus conferences, lectures and/or special presentations

 

Desired Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or presently pursuing bachelors

  • 1-3 years' work experience

  • Hardware and Software troubleshooting

  • Understand safety policies and actively promote safe practices in the workplace

  • Deal constructively with conflict and focus on the situation, issue or behavior and not on the person by diffusing situations before conflicts arise, resolving conflicts directly and actively promoting and gaining cooperation from others

Tools and Equipment Used:

Desktop computer, including spreadsheet and word processing software; copy machine; fax machine, printers, and scanners.
