Description
Indian Creek School is an independent coeducational day school offering a broad curriculum in the liberal arts. Founded in 1973, Indian Creek School enrolls approximately 575 students in grades Pre-K through twelve from diverse ethnic, racial, religious, and economic backgrounds. This is a 12 month, full time position, reporting to the Chief Technology & Operations Officer.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive IT support to faculty, staff, and students, ensuring a seamless and efficient learning environment. Your role will include hardware, software, and network troubleshooting, managing our innovation lab’s cutting-edge equipment such as 3D printers and laser cutters, and leading the development of our student-led technology support team.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide IT support to faculty, staff, and students, which may involve training on existing and new technologies.
- Diagnose and resolve network issues to maintain a stable connection for all users.
- Install and configure hardware and software to meet the educational needs of the school.
- Assess and improve IT systems to optimize operational efficiency and support educational initiatives for hardware and software installations, including regular updates and upgrades.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of innovation lab equipment.
- Assist with monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks to prevent and minimize downtime.
- Mentor and develop a student-led technology support team, fostering leadership and technical skills.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Broad technical competency with computer systems, operating systems, and software applications.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
- Skills in setting up hardware and software, and configuring systems for optimal use.
- Knowledge of networking concepts and the ability to manage internet connectivity problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to assist users and document processes.
- Ability to work well with both technical and non-technical staff and students.
- Strong analytical skills to solve complex technical issues.
- A passion for technology and a desire to work with individuals of varying technical abilities.
- A genuine enthusiasm for fostering a positive learning environment for children and adults alike.
Education and Experience:
- Familiarity with educational technology and platforms commonly used in K-12 settings. Knowledge of Blackbaud Education Management Solutions is helpful.
- Experience in a school or educational setting preferred,
- Proficiency in Microsoft for Education or Microsoft 365 environments.
- A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
