Academic Technologies is seeking a web developer on the Web & Application Consulting team who will offer technical expertise in the daily support of campus-wide web and software applications. This position is responsible for application administration and support as well as web development. This position administers and offers technical expertise to consultants and clients for campus-wide applications, such as WordPress, TeamDynamix, and other enterprise applications as they occur. This position is responsible for technologies needed for website management and web governance software. It must be knowledge in website development for ADA compliance, SEO, responsive layout, and image optimization. This position is responsible for creating tools utilizing REST APIs and web services to extend application functionality to our users for applications such as TeamDynamix and Faculty180. This position develops custom solutions and web applications in the ECU web environment. It must be knowledgeable in web development technologies such as PHP, MySQL and MSSQL. The position is expected to develop code according to guidelines, conduct quality assurance testing on other developers’ code, manage code under version control, and document all work. It keeps up to date on new technologies, best practices, and modern development methods for website & API development. This position may require non-business hour support including evening and weekends, depending on the needs of the university. |

Minimum Education/Experience |
Associate’s degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Technology Integration, Networking Technology, or related area and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the position’s role; or Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year experience in the information technology field related to the position’s role; or Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, math or engineering or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Journey level requires an additional one year of experience. Advanced level requires an additional two years of experience. |

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education |
A bachelor’s degree in an IT field focusing on web development is preferred. Two years of experience in web development writing code according to guidelines, conducting quality assurance testing on other developers’ code, managing code under version control, and documenting all work preferred. Understanding of the user experience as it relates to web and mobile is essential. Understanding of multi-media, social media, mobile and emerging technologies, as well as the application of these tools in higher education is desired. |
