High school diploma and two years of computer helpdesk or computer repair experience. Additional experience may not be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements. The university offers market competitive salary and benefits. Grade NC. Wage minimum $12.54/hr

Position Description
The School of Dentistry is seeking a Technology Support Assistant to provide initial support to faculty, staff, and students by responding to, documenting, and prioritizing requests received through electronic submission, help line telephone calls, or walk-ins, in effort to ensure adequate response is provided. The position will support computer hardware and software for all School of Dentistry departments, and resolve user support requests to setup and maintain audio/visual equipment in classrooms.
As part of the Dental Informatics team, other duties of the position include, yet are not limited to: test, diagnose, and resolve audio/visual equipment issues; maintain an inventory of supported hardware and software; order and stock supplies; routinely monitor classrooms and conference rooms for optimal operation; provide technical support for videoconferences, distance learning classes, and electronic exam sessions; utilize an automated work order system to log all helpdesk requests; route requests to appropriate University resources if resolution is not possible; and, document steps or procedures taken for cross-training.
A successful candidate should have excellent oral and written communications skills, and be experienced in computer troubleshooting and repair, help desk, and customer service.
