Technology Support Associate
LREI - Little Red School House & Elisabeth Irwin High School seeks a Technology Support Associate.
The ideal candidate will be a systems thinker with strong organizational skills. Primary qualifications include excellent communication skills and an interest in educational technology and/or systems administration.
Preferred Qualifications:
Applicants should have a working knowledge of Apple hardware (desktops, laptops, and tablets) and the macOS and iOS app ecosystems. A deeper understanding of macOS (Command Line Interface) and how to deploy software packages and scripts, preferred. The candidate should also be familiar with cloud-based services and solutions. Experience with printers, projectors, and A/V systems is a plus, as is a basic knowledge of networked environments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Technology Associate works closely with all constituencies within the school. LREI utilizes a help desk system; the Associate provides the first line of response for hardware, software, database, cloud, and A/V related issues. The Associate builds software packages for distribution and is responsible for classroom technology setup and maintenance. In addition, this person provides support for the faculty, staff, and administration personnel and students with their applications.
In addition to daily support, opportunities exist to learn more complex networking systems, server operating systems, and student information systems. Special projects may include creating documentation, providing training to faculty and/or staff, and working with student groups.
Duties and Responsibilities for Summer Months:
Prepping for the school year. This includes:
- Building/tweaking packages with for our Client management solution (Apple experience, with some basic shell scripting, a huge bonus)
- Tech spaces re-organizing and cleanup
- Managing equipment unboxing, inventory, thin-imaging, and deploying with our client management solution
- misc. help desk requests from our Administrative staff who work during the summer months.
