Technology Support Specialist
Landon School is an independent school for boys in grades 3–12, located on a beautiful 75 acre campus in Bethesda, Maryland. Landon seeks a full-time Technology Support Specialist for the 2019-20 school year. This position, reporting to the Information Technology Manager, serves as the primary technical support for all classrooms, faculty, students, and staff, along with serving as the audio/visual specialist. Candidates must possess strong analytical skills and effective interpersonal and communication skills to interact with a wide range of users having different levels of computer expertise. An Associate degree in IT or related field with work experience in an educational setting preferred. Physical ability (to move, transport, and carry equipment with a minimum weight of 20 lbs) and dexterity to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job. Below are some of the responsibilities of the role:

Under general supervision, independently perform troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and installation activities.

Provide support to users relating to both hardware and software problems on their personal computers. Respond in a timely fashion to user requests for service and determines nature and extent of support needed. Provide support or refers to the appropriate staff member.

Support the school’s 1:1 laptop initiative.

Maintain an inventory of the school’s computer and A/V equipment

Provide A/V support including setup and equipment management

Coordinate with contractors on computer warranty repairs and printer maintenance

Perform hardware/software upgrades to existing computer equipment as needed.

Work with Technology Team to determine current and future hardware needs, as well as appropriate software configurations.

Participate actively as a member of the Technology Committee. Assists with current and ongoing projects, issues, and policies

Participate in training and conferences as needed to stay educated on current and upcoming relevant technologies
