The Bryn Mawr School seeks a Technology Support Specialist.  The ideal candidate will have the technical skills and ingenuity necessary to support the school staff and students in a multi- platform computing environment. Technology is a key component to our curriculum and we need a team player with an upbeat personality, strong technical skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, hard work ethic and commitment to excellence to keep us moving forward.  The Technology Support Specialist reports directly to the Director of Technology and is a 12 month position employee.
Key Qualifications
  • a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • strong communication and organizational skills  
  • solid understanding of and adaptability when assessing user needs, troubleshooting, and proactively addressing problems
  • keen interest in working with the Technology Department team to contribute meaningfully to maintaining and improving infrastructure and system performance

Key Responsibilities

  • provide first tier technical support in a multi-platform environment
  • support Macintosh and Windows desktop and laptop computers
  • perform ongoing hardware and software installation and create and deploy multiple images
  • maintain a cloud based Mobile Device Management environment in support of the school’s iOS devices including our Lower School 1:1 iPad program for students and faculty
  • manage the school’s mobile devices and provide support for designated mobile device users
  • provide technical support and training to faculty, staff and students, and answer help desk calls
  • train and oversee student help desk volunteers
  • provide support for and troubleshoot various computing equipment such as projectors, cameras, camcorders, peripherals and other audio/visual equipment
  • continually look for opportunities to streamline our deployment and support procedures while constantly reaching emerging industry trends
  • maintain and write new support articles for Bryn Mawr’s knowledge base of self-help guides and tutorials
  • handle and coordinate technology related setups for campus events
  • collaborate closely with the Director of Technology and the Technology Department to further a vision for technology infrastructure at Bryn Mawr
