Technology Support Specialist
Qualifications:
◠A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with
experience and/or in educational technology.
The Technology Support Specialist must possess the ability to:
â— Evaluate the use of technology in the classroom.
â— Model and support the effective integration of technology in the classroom.
â— Display competency with administrative and instructional applications of technology and web-design.
â— Use multi-media equipment and applications, basic software applications and common operating systems.
â— Demonstrate a working knowledge of hardware components and their functions.
â— Possess the ability to implement new technologies.
â— Demonstrate working knowledge of fundamental network design, web design and common network operating systems.
Job Goals:
â— To support and improve the overall quality of education received by students, staff, and the school community through the use of technology.
â— To provide support for the implementation and use of technology to advance education.
Terms:
â— Employment Contract: Full Time, 12 months
â— Reports to: Director of Technology
â— Evaluated by: Director of Technology
Responsibilities:
â— Supports system-wide software and hardware standards, requirements and
specifications.
â— Supports students, faculty and staff for technical issues and problems that arises during a normal day.
â— Analyzes information to determine and recommend layout for type of computers and peripheral equipment, or modifications to existing equipment and system.
â— Evaluates hardware and software for classroom or administrative needs.
â— Remains current on new developments in the areas of software, hardware, networks,telecommunications, and web-design.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with system analysis, implementation, pc’s, firewalls, backup systems,printers and networks.
