Ensworth is now accepting applications for a Technology Support Specialist on the high school campus. This position will be under the direction of the Associate Director of Technology and Director of Technology.

 

The Technology Support Specialist will provide technical support to employees and students for all school-owned equipment, service and maintain school computers, perform software and hardware upgrades, and provide documentation of systems and procedures. This job will have particular emphasis on maintaining the school’s faculty and student laptops, printers, and copiers.

 

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
  • Computer science or information technology major preferred
  • Successful experience in personal computer operation and troubleshooting
  • Basic understanding of system components and network concepts
  • Apple Certified Macintosh Technician Certification or previous experience with Apple hardware repair, a plus
  • Knowledge of Mac OS, iOS, and Windows systems
  • Prior experience with operations of an education institution system, a plus
  • Ability to articulate technical information to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to understand and follow written directions
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
  • Patience and sense of humor
Responsibilities

 

Essential Functions:

  • Handle computer hardware and software maintenance requests from faculty and staff
  • Provide troubleshooting of school software and hardware
  • Organize, duplicate and distribute all software material, manuals, etc. for instructional and administrative applications
  • Establish and maintain workstation and printer connections to school network
  • Expand, update, and maintain the IT help desk system
  • Assist in data entry and maintenance of school databases
  • Maintain software and hardware inventory
  • Assist with installation of new technology systems and equipment
  • Analyze existing procedures and develop improvements for optimum use of technologies
  • Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
  • Generally, works in standard office conditions and climate
  • Works in a highly stressful environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines and a varied and diverse array of contacts
  • Works at a desk and computer for extended periods of time
