Position:  Technology Support Specialist at Windsor High School.  Starting August 15, 2018.  193 days per year ~ full benefits.  8.0 hours per day.

 

Salary range 11: $16.34 - $19.93 per hour based on work experience. (Based on 2017/18 salary schedule - subject to change).

 

This position is responsible for providing first and second level technology support, day-to-day upkeep, maintenance, and repairs (as qualified) to computers, printers, and other end-user technologies at assigned school(s) or location(s). Secondary responsibilities include providing assistance to other areas served by the Technology & Information Services department.

  

REPORTS TO:  Enterprise Technology Manager

  

DISTRICT REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Certification of good health;
  • Successfully pass physical abilities test;
  • Criminal background check required for hire.

  

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working knowledge of current popular operating systems;
  • Experience with current popular office productivity software;
  • Experience with computer hardware and related peripheral upgrades, troubleshooting and repair;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Good organization skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates degree or higher;
  • Certifications:
    • CompTIA A+
    • MCSE
    • CCENT or CCNA
  • Experience with:
    • Current popular antivirus software packages;
    • Imaging multiple computers;
    • Current popular server environments and director structures.

 

  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist end-users with technology use and configuration.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
  • Support and manage computers and related peripherals including:
    • Installation and maintenance of computers;
    • Installation and maintenance of peripherals;
    • Cleaning of computers and related peripherals;
    • Hardware and software upgrades;
    • Image and re-image computers as necessary or required.
  • Assist in school technology curriculum by mentoring assigned students and utilizing their skills to help accomplish day-to-day support tasks.
  • Provide training in one-on-one or small group settings on basic technology use.
  • Stay current on new technologies.
  • Collaborate with school/location leadership to advise on new technology adoptions and implementations. Attend school technology committee meetings (if applicable) as a resource.
  • Participate in Technology Department meetings to support all department team members. Assist with department-wide projects. Provide and attend cross training sessions.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of technology equipment for school(s)/location(s).
  • Log all service tickets into the designated tracking system.
  • Other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance on ladders to reach equipment in or near the ceiling, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

MENTAL FUNCTIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to analyze, communicate, copy, evaluate and use interpersonal skills. Frequently required to compare, coordinate, instruct, computer, synthesize, compile and negotiate.
