Two Schools Technology Manager
Two Schools, LLC is an organization comprised of Giddens School and Lake Washington Girls Middle School. Both schools inhabit the same school facility and share technology and facility resources. This position is a full time position across both schools and includes a full time benefits package. Each school provides half of the full time compensation package and the Technology Manager works collaboratively across both schools. For Giddens, this is a professional, half-time, year-round position with LWGMS completing the remaining half time position to make this in its entirety a full time position for one individual.
Giddens and LWGMS have approximately 400+ users and an inventory of 500+ machines including Chromebooks, iPads, iMacs, notebooks, and laptops. We are a mixed environment utilizing Mac, PCs, and Chromebooks. We mainly use Android and Mac Apps for Education as well as Blackbaud and Alma for our Student Information System. In addition to a school-wide telephone system shared across both schools, the classrooms are equipped with various AV equipment--including doc cameras, projectors, etc. Additionally, there is a state-of-the-art performance space that has AV and lighting systems to support events such as school plays, presentations, and celebrations.
Position Overview:
Ensuring the smooth and productive use of all things that plug in, use batteries, beep or depend on a digital network, the Technology Manager manages all aspects of Two Schools’ shared IT infrastructure providing strategic direction and oversight for the development, implementation, integration and user support of all information technology systems, including hardware, software, video, data, and voice.
Managing technology resources and operations, the Technology Manager serves as primary IT support for Two Schools and is responsible for creating, implementing and monitoring computer hardware and software plans as well as supporting staff and students with the use of technology.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
General Duties & Responsibilities:

Plan, purchase, install and maintain technology hardware & software (ex. computers, AV systems, copiers/printers).

Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including telecommunication systems, security as well as user accounts, G-suite, and other internal systems.

Support administrators and non-teaching staff in the use of technology and technology-based systems, responding in a timely fashion to their needs.

Work closely with the Leadership team to understand and anticipate the technology needs of the school and provide support in the identification and integration of software platforms.

Oversee setup and breakdown of all technology needs for school events such as projectors and sound equipment.

Collaborate with and support the Director of Institutional Advancement to ensure the website is functional for all users.
User Management and Support:

Establish and maintain a help-desk for all employees to easily access and request support;

Provide help-desk support to all users in a timely manner;

Develop and maintain a ‘reference desk’ of written operating instructions, accessible by users for frequent support requests;

Assess user needs, research, and purchase all technology assets for the organization;

Maintain and troubleshoot devices and systems, hardware, and software/applications; repair or arrange for repair of equipment

Maintain and expand the email systems and file servers as needed to meet the needs of the organization;

Maintain, evaluate and upgrade the telecommunications system, as needed;

Collaborate with the academic technology team to plan and procure hardware, software, and training resources for teachers and students;

Set up and maintain user accounts, permissions and passwords
Planning, Budgeting and Asset Management:

Work with the Director of Finance and Head of School in budget planning by preparing yearly tech roadmap, tracking maintenance and equipment upgrade needs, and estimating and scoping project costs.

Prepare network, telecom, security, and intercom system budgets.

Develop policies and processes, using industry ‘best practices’, to ensure the protection of IT assets and the integrity, security, and privacy of information entrusted to the organization.

Negotiate and manage agreements between the School and application vendors, hosted service providers, and other technology providers;

Implement organization-wide information system recovery plan to ensure timely and effective restoration of IT services in the event of a disaster;

Develop and maintain an inventory management system to maintain an accurate inventory of technology assets at the device level; ensure resources are easily accessible to all users
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field desired; equivalent work experience may be substituted for a degree.

Minimum of three years’ experience in computer support, network management or related field;

Ability to communicate technical issues with people of varying levels of knowledge;

Understanding of educational technology concepts and broad knowledge of products;

Proven ability to prepare and monitor operating and capital budgets;

Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks;

Self-disciplined to stay on task, even without external motivation;

Ability to create and maintain organizational systems;

Ability to react calmly and appropriately in emergency or crisis situations;

Clear verbal and written communication;

High proficiency with Google Dashboard and Google Apps and Apple products required; additional proficiency with Meraki Dashboard required

Compensation
The salary scale and benefits reflect our value of staff as professionals and are competitive with our peer schools in the Northwest Association of Independent Schools. The salary range for this position is $75,000 - 85,000 depending on qualifications.
