Upper School Head Robotics Coach
The Blake School seeks to hire an Upper School Head Robotics Coach to provide leadership and management of an established robotics team (Grade 9–12) participating in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). The team currently enjoys club status and is not associated with specific curriculum. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in teaching and engineering, as well as experience with the FRC program. We also value the ability to inspire bright, highly motivated students, to collaborate with a team of adult mentors and volunteers, and to ensure that the program invites participation from students whose identities are traditionally underrepresented in STEM fields. This is a year-long co-curricular position, with practices after school and on weekends. The team meets approximately once a week throughout the fall and three times a week—including Saturdays—from January to March, during build season. Afternoon practices run from 3:30-5:30. Compensation is a stipend commensurate with experience. Blake is particularly interested in candidates who will enrich the diversity of identity, lived experience and thinking that makes a community strong and empowers students to engage across differences.
The search committee will begin reviewing applications immediately. Blake will typically cover the travel and lodging costs for finalist candidates visiting from out of town.
