Job Summary
This position is responsible for management of Midland College Information Technology efforts.
Required Qualifications
-
Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business Administration
-
Minimum of five years relevant experience in Information Technology management and Information Technology infrastructure development
-
Knowledge of equipment used to operate and maintain data/communication networks and personal productivity equipment
-
Effectively manage time and priorities in order to meet established deadlines
-
Work and communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers and other external contacts
-
Detail oriented and highly organized
-
Ability to manage several departments
-
Data/communication networking technology
-
Data/communication security technologies
-
Relational database methodologies and file structures
-
Familiar with policy formation and implementation
-
Strong communication, leadership, and presentation skills
-
Work in a team environment with multiple, sometimes changing priorities

Must possess a valid Texas Driver License, good driving record, and be insurable on Midland College's insurance policy
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate degree

Essential Functions
-
Provide the vision for Midland College's Information Technology needs, and how Midland College can best respond to these needs

Be informed of technology currently being used in industry and work with industry to find methods for Midland College to provide students with the skills necessary for this technology

Offer instruction on the use of Information Technology equipment and software to Midland College faculty and staff

Facilitate the maintenance of Midland College computer systems

Provide information for grant proposals to help procure funds for the acquisition of Information Technology equipment and software

Consult with faculty, staff, and administrators to determine their technology needs

Supervise the installation of all Midland College computers, software, and networks
-
Be informed of the Independent School District's instructional programs and determine the effect of those programs on Midland College's programs
-
Develop and maintain strategic plans for the Information Technology department

Manage Information Technology staff
-
Constantly analyze Information Technology related problems and provide procedural/technical solutions

Perform other duties as assigned by the President

Pay Statement
Salary is commensurate with educational qualifications and experience.
