Video Services Specialist
The Video Services Specialist films and edits campus events, oversees and/or produces video projects for the campus community, advises on video tools for use in the classroom, helps to manage assets in the Academy’s online video platform, Kaltura/MediaSpace, and provides general A/V and Mac lab support. This position reports to the Manager of the Polk Lillard Center in the Educational Initiatives unit of the Office of Information Technology.
Responsibilities and Duties
Coordinator and videographer of campus events; project manager and video producer for internal and external communications about educational initiatives at the Academy; primary support person for students and faculty working with video editing software; teach video editing software to individuals and groups; collaboration with other staff at the Polk-Lillard Center to support students and faculty using the Mac labs and provide general A/V support for events and classrooms; occasional nights and weekend hours required for event and lab support; advisor to film- and video-related student clubs.
Candidate Profile
Undergraduate degree required in a related field and a minimum of 3 years in filming, video production, and asset management; knowledge of web-based tools and software for video creation in the classroom; experience with Final Cut Pro X and/or Adobe Premiere; ability to support a Mac lab environment, exceptional communicative, relational, and customer-service skills; comfort in a fast-paced, dynamic environment requiring both the ability to take direction and the willingness to self-start; appreciation for the mission and culture of Phillips Academy; ability to work one night per week and occasional weekends and to lift 25 pounds.
