GENERAL SUMMARY

The Website and Digital Marketing Manager, reporting directly to the Director of Development, is responsible for the planning, execution and management of a comprehensive online marketing and communications plan. He/She will develop and implement communication strategies involving Thayer Academy’s website, community app, e-newsletters, email invitations/solicitations and social media. He/She will have a strong knowledge of best practices in digital communications and will provide strategic direction and long-range/short-range planning for all these areas in the context of communicating clearly, regularly and effectively with all of our constituents.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Works closely with the Directors of Admissions and Development to create a digital marketing plan for our various constituencies.
Assist in creation and launch of new Thayer Academy website – slated for October 2015.
Working with department heads across campus, conceives and executes campus wide content for all digital media platforms.
Develops and edits content and news for Thayer’s website on an ongoing basis and in a timely fashion using a CMS tool and works with our web software provider, Finalsite, to troubleshoot technical issues.
Repurposes content for distribution on social media sites.
Serves as primary content generator and editor for each of Thayer’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.
Serves as community manager for social media sites, responding to follower/fan comments and queries.
Uses social media to inform, entertain, motivate, promote, build Thayer’s brand and engage a variety of constituents.
Analyzes website as well as social media metrics to help create high-impact editorial content that encourages interactivity.
Markets and Monitors Thayer Academy’s Community App (created by Quadwrangle) to ensure maximum usage by our alumni base.
Writes and distributes weekly TNN (Thayer Network News) newsletter for the parent community.
Writes press releases about key news from Thayer.
Creates digital invitations for Thayer events as well as solicitations and other e-communications.
Attend and assist with all Development Special Events (occasionally on weekends or evenings).
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree required
3-5 years experience working in managing a website as well as content for digital marketing, including social media, the Web and in using a content management system (CMS).
Proven track record of generating sustained, compound growth in Web traffic and social media audience, building brand awareness and engaging a variety of constituents.
Experience writing compelling news articles and other content.
Demonstrated analytical skills and experience in using Google Analytics to assess what content is generating the most activity.
Experience with launching websites and content migration preferred.
Experience with all Social Medial channels as well as social media scheduling programs such as SproutSocial or HootSuite.
Understanding of search engine optimization (SEO).
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize and meet deadlines.
