Summary 
Reporting to the Director of Technology and serving as a member of the technology team, this full-time position will support the Children’s Day School (CDS) Lower School and Middle School technology program. This is a full-time position starting with the 2018-19 school year.

Position Description 
The Technology Integrationist position supports the school technology infrastructure, and audiovisual equipment; assist with website management (Drupal); and provide online support, research, tutorials, and procedures. The candidate will design, plan, and implement training for students, teachers, and parents. This position also promotes the school’s mission by supporting students, faculty, and staff in their integration of technology. Also, the Technology Integrationist works with faculty and staff on design and multimedia projects.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the integration of technology applications across all grades

  • Support the process of preparing, delivering and upgrading hardware/software

  • Work with Director of Technology and other IT team to design, develop, coordinate, and teach workshops and classes on instructional and administrative applications for the iPad program and the educational program in general

  • Maintain documentation of on-going support issues

  • Develop and teach digital skills and citizenship curriculum for Lower School and Middle School students

  • Champion and celebrate the success of students and faculty in their use of technology

  • Actively involved in assessing classrooms, grade level meetings to understand the curriculum and ongoing projects ensuring consistent technology integration between the lower and middle school

  • Maintain accurate inventory of hardware and software

  • Assist with development of and participate in computer user groups

  • Create self-help materials designed for students and faculty (i.e., tips, tutorials, troubleshooting steps, etc.)

  • Set up and support all peripherals including printers, copiers, projectors, scanners, and audiovisual equipment

  • Keep current with new technology, evaluate and stay current with emerging trends and best practices in EdTech, be an ambassador of technology and model their use

  • Provide support for all campus-wide applications including macOS, iOS, Microsoft Windows OS and applications, Google Suites, Adobe Acrobat and other Adobe CS products

  • Support, troubleshoot and complete simple repairs and software re-installations

  • Work together with other IT team members to manage student tech team

  • Work some weekends/evening hours to provide support for school events

  • Act as a leader/coordinator/chaperone for some field trips related to technology (local or multiple days, out of town field trips)

  • Communicate tech initiatives and progress with families

  • Produce promotional and project videos for Admission and Advancement Dept

  • Handle other duties/special projects assigned by the Director of Technology

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Education

  • Must work well in a collaborative team environment as well as independently

  • Strong organizational skills and must be detail-oriented, with the ability to multi-task and meet multiple competing deadlines

  • Ability to work well with PreK-8  students and with adult colleagues, and families; willingness to be an active, enthusiastic member of the CDS community

  • Commitment to equity and inclusion

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Classroom, Google Suite, Gmail, iOS device/app management

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience supporting technology preferably in a 1:1 environment

  • Experience training or teaching adults

  • Knowledge and experience in producing video training, documentation or promotional video

  • Knowledge editing video with Final Cut Pro

  • Experience with Filemaker or other Student Information System

  • Experience with JAMF

  • Candidates with three years teaching experience in an independent school and/or a degree in Educational Technology or related field is highly considered

  • Candidates with experience teaching technology in a 1:1 environment and a robust sense of humor are also preferred

Physical Demands

  • Excellent attendance and punctuality

  • Must be able to travel safely and comfortably across our two campus

  • Must be able to frequently, safely and comfortably lift at least 30 lbs.

  • Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments and outdoors environments

  • Must be able to comfortably and safely climb, bend, pull, reach, kneel, stoop and see for near and far work

  • Must be able to view and operate a computer and related technology and equipment at least 90% of working time
