Summary of Responsibilities

 

Reporting to the Director of Information Services, the Middle/Upper School Learning & Technology Coordinator works closely with the administrative teams to provide leadership for the effective and meaningful integration of technology across the curriculum. A member of the Information Services team, Teaching and Learning Committee (TLC), and Tregaron Administrative Council (TAC), the Learning & Technology Coordinator ensures that digital tools and resources are integrated in a fashion that reflects the school’s mission and instructional objectives.

 

The schedule follows a teacher’s schedule, plus an additional fifteen (15) days; 5 days after teachers leave in June, 5 days before they return in August, and the other 5 days to be scheduled in conjunction with the Director of Information Services.

 

Major Functions and Responsibilities:

 

The Middle and Upper School Learning and Technology Coordinator will:

 

  1. Collaborate with Middle and Upper School administrations, as well as the Primary School Learning & Technology Coordinator, to support the integration of Technology Fluency throughlines across the Middle and Upper School curriculum and sustain a Pre-K to 12 continuum.
  2. Develop and maintain documentation on technology programming and written curriculum, including the Technology Fluency Throughline Articulation and Technology Tools data in the Tregaron Unit Planner.
  3. In collaboration with the STEAM Specialist and the Media and Research Specialist, develop and support Frameworks for ethical engagement with Information and Technology, including the Framework for Agency in Digital Community.
  4. Participate in active communication with team members and stakeholders to identify issues of concern among faculty, staff, students and parents and collaborate in the development and implementation of technology and system solutions.
  5. Collaborate with team members to ensure that technology programs are accessible and sustainable; and that their academic impact is integrated and transformative.
  6. Develop training and support materials for use of technology tools and resources; take a lead role in coordinating, disseminating, and using these resources in professional development with faculty members.
  7. Collaborate with teachers of technology oriented electives and support coding in the classroom initiatives.
  8. Collaborate and coordinate with team members and the Director of Teaching and Learning to offer varied and relevant professional development opportunities, including but not limited to facilitating a learning group.
  9. Identify and research external resources and professional development opportunities for staff in technology-related fields and support their tool adoption and/or application process.
  10. Collaborate with Service Desk Coordinator in conducting Level I troubleshooting, where appropriate.
  11. Advise Director of Information Services on acquisition of software, hardware, and other digital resources for implementation in curriculum.
  12. Support students, parents, and faculty in effective implementation of the AUP, and promote appropriate, ethical use of technology in accordance with school policy.
  13. Work collaboratively with team members to develop shared sense of responsibility, collaboration, and support.
  14. Attend conferences and professional meetings in order to remain current with relevant trends.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related content area required, Master's degree in Education Technology or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a school preferred with strong classroom management skills and exposure
  • Knowledge of and experience with current best-practice in inquiry and technology integration
  • Experience coaching teachers and/or leading professional development workshop.
  • Varied professional experience, both in classroom settings and outside of schools;
  • Ability to inspire learners and encourage creative thinking.
  • Advanced G Suite expertise, Google Certified Trainer a plus.
  • Aptitude for coding and computational thinking, developer experience a plus.
