Technology Support Manager
Primary Purpose of Position |
This position is responsible for administering and maintaining orderly operation of the North Carolina A&T State University, College of Business and Economics technology throughout the building including labs, classrooms, and offices. The position serves as the lead liaison between vendors and the College of Business and Economics for computers, audio-visual, electronic tickers and Sales Lab issues. Working well with vendors to resolve issues locally and arrange support between the vendor, the College, and NCAT IT support services is key. The employee in this role will be encouraged to make strategic recommendations to improve system performance. This position will maintain computer hardware and software, resolve issues with audio-visual equipment, and arrange resolution of higher order technical issues. Diagnoses constituents’ problems, researches answers, and guides them through corrective steps. The Technology Support Manager will be encouraged to make strategic recommendations to improve system performance. Also supports administrators, faculty, and students by providing basic instruction on equipment usage and immediate support during technical difficulty. Assists constituents will technical difficulties and consults external vendors when necessary to recover data and repair/replace equipment. This position will maintain a complete record of all technical resources and provide information on resource usage as requested. There is a requirement of this employee to participate in training and continuing education, to review professional publications, and to participate in professional organizations to stay current on operating systems, software, and hardware upgrades. The Technology Support Manager is expected to assist the College of Business and Economics’ administration during the recruiting, registration, and orientation processes for new and returning students. The position is also responsible for assisting and working with other technicians in Merrick and Craig Halls. |
