IAM Product Manager
The Information Security Office (ISO) seeks an IT Product Manager to participate in the Identity and Access Management (IAM) team. TheIAMteam’s mission is to provide the right information to the right people at the right times and places. TheIAMteam is responsible for the overall care and maintenance of the university’s directories, and for efforts like single sign on, multi-factor authentication, identity lifecycle management, and security access certifications. TheIAMIT Product Manager designs and establishes the overall product features ofIAMinitiatives, and establishes processes for management of product requirements throughout their lifecycle. This position typically works on cross-functional teams to translate customer needs and technology directions into product definitions and processes.
ISOcontinuously strives for daily operational excellence to ensure the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of University of Utah information technology systems and data through the implementation of appropriate security resources and best practices. TheISOteam works in partnership with the University, as well as external entities, to help ensure that the University of Utah is exposed only to acceptable risks within its educational, research, patient care, and community outreach missions.
Located in Salt Lake City, in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains, the University of Utah is the flagship institution of the State of Utah’s system of higher education and a member of thePAC-12 Conference. Responsibilities
TheIAMProduct Manager will plan, implement, and manageIAMproducts to meet user and University needs. A normal cycle would include finding a customer need or security need, finding a solution that meets that need, planning for implementation, implementing, and following through to ensure that the solution is meeting the need(s) for which it was selected. It will involve planning, business analysis, project management, process development and improvement, and product lifecycle management. You’ll need to be thorough and detail-oriented. You’ll need to be passionately customer and outcome focused. You’ll need to be able to work with a team, whether as a team member or as a leader, and to energize that team to meet goals and deadlines. You’ll need to be creative, driven, and able to work with little supervision, but also able to tolerate close supervision when necessary. You’ll need to have a relentless drive to get a little better every day. You’ll need to be able to work with anyone, communicate with people from all levels of the organization, and instill confidence in our customers and partners.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires an advanced degree (Bachelor’s or higher) or equivalency, and 5-8 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of personnel within an organization.
Strong written and verbal communications skills.

A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related fields of study.
