Department Summary

Information Technology Services is responsible for the development, implementation and operation of information technology systems and communications networks for Oregon Tech. The following objectives are central to our mission: support student computer labs, academic computing, and administrative systems, and maintain system functions; develop, recommend, and implement strategic solutions utilizing emerging information technologies to sustain and improve services to the continually changing Oregon Tech campus environment; and strive to provide cost effective, reliable and responsive services to all areas of the institution.

Position Summary

The Director of IT Security and Compliance is a member of the Information Technology Services leadership team and a direct report of the Associate Vice President/Chief Information Officer (AVP/CIO).

This position is responsible for the strategic direction, implementation, and operation of the Oregon Tech’s IT security program. This position will work with constituencies across campus to develop a robust information security program.

Minimum Requirements  
Additional Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and six (6) years of progressively responsible, relevant experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Experience in information security, auditing, and/or compliance related issues involving State and Federal Regulations.
  • Experience in leading the development of IT security programs.
  • Ability to work efficiently, independently, and in team situations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences.
  • A Master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) credentials.
  • Experience working in higher education.
