Science, STEAM, Technology teacher
The Caedmon School (Pre-K through Grade 5), in New York City, is seeking an experienced, full-time Elementary Science/STEAM/Technology teacher, to start end of August/September 1, 2018. The school completely renovated the state of the art Science/STEAM Lab this summer.
The ideal candidate will be research-informed, seek collaboration, apply strong interpersonal and communication skills, and feel comfortable coaching colleagues as well as being coached as a member of a professional learning community. She or he has a passion for working with children and has a solid understanding of children's social, emotional, and academic developmental stages. The candidate will also provide educational opportunities for parents.
Qualifications

A distinct fondness for working with children

Preferred - Master’s degree in elementary education; Additional coursework and professional development in science, STEAM, and technology is strongly desired

Successful, full-time K-5 classroom teaching experience, preferably with multiple grade levels

Ability to work constructively with individuals, both children and adults, and with teams of teachers

Ability to assess student needs and performance and to interpret results to inform instructional planning

Comfort and experience with social media
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Promote enhanced science and STEAM instruction and student learning, including differentiated instruction techniques, assessments, and materials

Teach Grades 1-5 Elementary Science, Grades 3-5 Technology, and develop and integrate STEAM learning into the current science curriculum.

Participate enthusiastically in Faculty Research Task Forces and committees
