Systems Administrator
An entry to mid level position for a Knowledge Professional focusing in the functional areas of Programming and Systems Analysis as needed by the Information Technology Services Department in delivering service and support to clients. Under general direction, performs a variety of technical duties by providing technical support including coordination, maintenance, upgrades and overall support for computer systems; administers, evaluates and modifies systems to assure proper security and operation; plans, coordinates, and implements system software program release changes for enterprise servers; resolves technology problems and provides for system enhancements; provides technical support and assistance to clients.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

Assists in the analysis of existing software and hardware systems and procedures; recommends modifications or creations of computer programs and user procedures to best meet user’s needs; makes recommendations regarding any needed changes.

Plans and coordinates the installation of new releases and system software. Install and test new system software releases and place them in production mode after successful testing.

Troubleshoots problems with system software to successful resolution. Monitors systems for performance and security.

Assists staff in the use of the system software.

Reviews vendor software bulletins to avoid potential problems and installs updates and modifications as required.

Confers with program product vendors regarding new product releases and for problem resolutions.

Evaluates equipment and software capability; researches and resolves problems; makes technical recommendations.

Researches and evaluates information technology hardware and software system requirements; configures, installs and maintains server hardware and software when applicable.

Evaluates, recommends, implements, and ensures systems security.

Prepares client, operations, and systems documentation according to pre-established standards.

Researches and evaluates College Information Systems hardware and software requirements; Configures, installs, and maintains CIS software to support and ensure day-to-day operations of systems for document maging, room scheduling, business analytics reporting and others.

Provides operational support as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements
Associates Degree from a regionally accredited institution; 2 or more years of ERP system administration experience; experienced in SQL administration, software rollout, Colleague WebAdvisor configuration and administration; Programming experience in SQL, Java Scripting, and Cron Scripting.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary for this position is $53,318 - $84,244. Pay grade for this position is M. Initial placement for new employees is customarily at entry level through 25% percentile. Contract type is Professional. Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include off-shift hours, evening and weekend assignments may be required of any position. All positions are subject to budget approval.
