The Technology department is searching for an Administrative Assistant to be the department's "director of first impressions." Working out of our state-of-the-art Technology Center, the successful candidate will enjoy frequent interactions with Berkeley’s students, faculty, and staff in helping to support their use of the school’s outstanding computer technology. The Administrative Assistant works in a fast paced, team focused environment; supporting all members of the department in advancing the school's technology mission.

At this time The Technology Department Administrative Assistant is a part-time position, 20 hours a week. The position will become full time in the summer of 2019.

On a daily basis:

  • Receives, processes, and tracks all technology support service requests

  • Escalate support requests by passing them to the appropriate technology team member

  • Document resolutions by using the ticket system to ensure continuity

  • Communicates and coordinates information by receiving and distributing telephonic and electronic communications with members of the technology department.

  • Maintain supplies by checking stock to determine inventory levels, anticipating requirements, expediting orders, and organizing supplies; including inventorying and inspecting loaner equipment for use by students and faculty – refer to service or repair when necessary.

  • Maintain strong relationship with all vendors and track equipment sent away for repair.

  • Provide one-on-one end-user training as needed.

  • Serve as a principal point of contact for parent questions regarding the use of Mac@Berkeley notebooks.
