Dean of the Division of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) and Advanced Technologies
The Dean of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math will provide leadership in the ongoing development of an innovative and current curriculum that prepares students for transfer and career opportunities. In addition, this academic leader will foster collaboration across disciplines to promote faculty partnerships and deep learning through development of fast-track cohorts, structured learning communities, service and cooperative learning and other appropriate pedagogical strategies. The Dean will provide administrative and instructional leadership to the faculty and staff in the division and serves in an advisory capacity in all matters relating to the curriculum and the instructional process.
Salary Range: $72,000 - $80,000

REQUIREMENTS:

A Master’s degree in one of the instructional areas within the division from a regionally accredited institution.

Five (5) years of supervisory/leadership experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise the development, assessment, and revision of curriculums.

Develop each term course schedules for all teaching locations of the college (including dual enrollment).

Collaborate in the preparation of course offerings for non-credit classes.

Recruit, evaluate, and recommend full-time and part-time faculty and staff.

Provide assignments, supervision, professional development, and supervisory evaluation. for faculty and staff; manage course and faculty evaluations by students.

Promote effective integrations in the use of High Impact Practices in teaching and learning.

Prioritize, recommend, and manage the division budget.

Assign instructional facilities; supervise equipment inventory as appropriate.

Lead Department Chairs, faculty and staff in enrollment management strategies to affect recruitment, retention, completion and student success.

Lead division efforts in orientation of new students and advisement of continuing students.

In cooperation with the Registrar, assist in all registration processes.

Establish and maintain professional relationships with transfer institutions, school systems, technical colleges, community businesses, industries, and service entities as appropriate for the academic unit.

Ensure compliance with TBR, THEC, SACSCOC, ATMAE and other specialized accreditations; serve as liaison to TBR on division transfer, non-transfer and technical programs.

Employ ethical standards and inclusive practices to ensure faculty, staff and student engagement.

Participate in professional development activities including teaching appropriate classes.
