IT Network Engineer
Trinity Valley School seeks an IT Network Engineer to join our Technology Team. The ideal candidate will have both the technical and people skills necessary to support the school’s faculty, staff, and students in a multi-platform environment. Technology is a key component of the TVS curriculum.
The Network Engineer maintains the performance, stability, and security of the school’s wired and wireless networks, while working to ensure that they are used to further the mission of the school. Additionally, the Network Engineer maintains the systems that provide various technology-enabled services to the school community.
We seek a team player whose expertise, positive demeanor, strong work ethic, patience, and commitment to excellence will be an asset to the TVS community. The IT Network Engineer reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer in this 12-month position.
Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with 5+ years of experience supporting a complex environment are preferred.

Up-to-date proficiency with Windows Azure, Windows Server, Windows 10, Mac OS, and Apple IOS is required

Recent experience with Google Suite for Education, JAMF Enterprise Management, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Exchange, Juniper firewalls, VMware, and wireless technologies is required.

Ability to provide off-hours support as required.

Extensive experience with hardware builds, OS installs, configurations, patching, and maintenance is required.

Recent experience with systems software and management, storage and backup systems, virtual systems, and other evolving technologies.

Ability to work with all members of our diverse school community who possess varying degrees of technology skills.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on a range of projects.

An eagerness to stay current with developments in technology and desire to learn new platforms as necessary.

Experience in education networks preferred.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Provide reliable access to school systems and software, both cloud based and locally run.

Maintain and administer school IT systems including email, applications, and data servers, switches, routers, firewalls, and other systems.

Perform incident assessment, problem resolution, and service restoration tasks requiring a working knowledge of servers, operating systems, and networks.

Administer Systems and data backup/recovery.

Manage Azure Active Directory, among other systems.

Contribute to capacity planning for systems growth.

Assist with development/maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity planning and cybersecurity oversight.

Participate in the identification, review, and implementation of new IT technologies and services.

Keep abreast of emerging technical and professional developments affecting local area networks and recommend improvements.

Interface with vendors on various projects.

Troubleshoot various software problems.

Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned by the CTO.
