Under the supervision of the Director of Systems/IT Operations, the Telecommunications Manager (Managing Assistant Director II) ensures that the University has a fully functional telecommunications infrastructure that supports the needs of students, faculty and staff. The Telecommunications Manager is responsible for all technical and managerial activities for an effective communications system, including the management of support personnel; developing and implementing goals, policies and procedures for the telecommunications infrastructure; leading efforts to integrate video, instant messaging and other emerging technologies into the University’s existing voice platform, with a focus on a mobile first, cloud approach; and performing related work as required. 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and two years of professional experience as a telecommunications manager or in a similar position is required. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute required experience on a year-for-year basis. A Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications or a related field is highly preferred. Candidate must have up-to-date knowledge of technology and related regulations/guidelines.
