Basic Function

To serve as a key member of the Faculty Staff Resource Center and to provide instructional technology instruction and support for faculty and staff. Design, plan and facilitate professional learning communities and staff development training in various software applications and emerging instructional technologies. Assist faculty in the development of text, graphics, multimedia audio and video capture presentations. Assistance must be delivered to participants with various skill levels and various levels at the college. Must be able to adapt to new technology at a very rapid pace. Experience using but not limited to Web 2.0 technologies. Will be responsible for the maintenance and support of the Faculty/Staff resource center. Good communication skills are a must.

Duties and Responsibilities

To serve as a key member of the Faculty Staff Resource Center and to provide instructional technology instruction and support for faculty and staff. Design, plan and facilitate professional learning communities and staff development training in various software applications and emerging instructional technologies such as; interactive whiteboards (i.e., SMARTboards), student response systems(clickers), digital video (i.e. Flip Cameras, Green Screen), mobile technologies/tablets (i.e., iPads) and Web 2.0 tools that support teaching and learning. Provide hands-on training in specific job area needs such as word processing (i.e., Word), spreadsheet (i.e., Excel), and multimedia software (i.e., PowerPoint). Use knowledge of new emerging technologies and experience with both PC and MAC applications and hardware as well as mobile devices (primarily Apple). Perform regular training needs assessments and collaborate with college community (faculty, staff and students) to provide appropriate teaching and learning experiences. Create and maintain digital portal of instructional manuals, videos, podcasts, how-to’s, and learning resources for the college community. Conduct training sessions with college community (faculty, staff, and students) on an ad hoc basis in order to enhance technology integration and instruction. Maintain and share current knowledge of developments in the area of online instructional technology and integration into the curriculum as it relates to 21st Century learners Develop training, perform regular training assessments, and collaborate with faculty and college staff personnel to provide appropriate teaching and learning experiences. Conduct training sessions with faculty on an ad hoc basis in order to enhance student technology integration. Assist in planning for effective implementation of curriculum to ensure that technology is used effectively to meet student needs. Promote a positive, caring climate for learning. Keep abreast of and implement new emerging technologies and experiences with both PC and Mac applications and hardware. Maintain and share current knowledge of developments in the area of online instructional technology and integration into the curriculum as it relates to 21st Century teaching and learning.

Minimum Qualifications

College-level coursework in Instructional Technology, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Significant experience with computer-based equipment systems and significant experience in high public contact situations.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in higher education. Experience working with adult learners. Experience creating, facilitating, organizing, and/or conducting trainings/workshops.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Demonstrated experience in education/training with an emphasis in instructional technology, instructional design and development. Experience in current computer hardware, operating systems and application software. Knowledge in computer-based equipment systems. Applies considerable knowledge of delivery methods of instruction and adult learning theories, instructional design and technology-based training methodologies. Applies knowledge of group/team facilitation; strong verbal and written communication skills necessary to produce quality training programs; Applies experience and education in instructional technology and instructional design. Ability to work independently and to work collaboratively as a member of a team. Ability to manage multiple projects at one time Ability to work with a customer service focus.
