IT Site Supervisor
This position oversees the Information Technology functions at the CU Denver South location. As such, the position supports the needs of all constituents using the CU South Denver classroom and event technologies, and is responsible for providing effective and efficient informational technology services for a wide variety of functions at CU South Denver (museum, events, theater, café and bookstore technology). This position will be required to build and maintain professional relationships while subscribing to the philosophy of a team leadership approach. This position requires a high level of customer service skill and knowledge of and expertise with various technology systems. This position will be hands-on in assisting with the day-to-day IT support and projects.
This is a full-time position and requires the flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
Supervision Exercised:
This position supervises 2.0 IT/AV FTE
Examples of Work Performed:

Install, configure, and support computers, peripherals and software used for events, staff, K-12 and in the higher education classrooms and conference rooms throughout CU South Denver, as well as the integration of this hardware and software with other AV equipment.

Monitor all staff, museum, classroom, and computer lab PCs, and their related peripherals, for proper operation. Develop and document preventative maintenance schedule for computers in classrooms and lab; keep logs up-to-date.

Provide server maintenance for Time Clock system, Access Control system, Point of Sales, Building lighting control, Building Automation system, IT Ticketing system, and security camera monitoring system

Manage Active Directory and Group Policy for the South Denver Organization Unit.

Manage Point of Sales stations support for Admissions, Bookstore, Cafe, Theater, and Event bars. Ensure PCI compliance is maintained and work with accounting team on annual PCI compliance review. Assist with setting up mobile POS stations for events.

Provide phone and voicemail support to end users.

Manage radio transceiver, radios, and accessories for all staff who need them. Maintain FCC contract for radio frequency.

Provide audio/visual support for events, K-12, classrooms, computer lab and equipment checkout resources. This includes operation, configuration, networking, troubleshooting, scheduling, inventory monitoring, maintenance and repair.

Perform installation tasks for projects including but not limited to: pulling cable, installing connectors, mounting projectors, security cameras, and metal fabrication.

Attend OIT Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings twice a week remotely to stay abreast of all changes occurring on the University network, and inform OIT if there are any conflictions between service maintenance and activities at CU South Denver.

Work with HR on onboarding and departing employees on user permissions for various systems.

Manage and keep emergency notification system user list up to date.

Prepare classrooms for distant education sessions. Operate distance education equipment for the students and faculty in the classroom to enable the quality of education for local and distant students.

Install, configure, and troubleshoot printers and copier. Work with CU campuses on print release software for students. Maintain contract with copier vendor for support and supplies.

Respond to and resolve, in a timely fashion, assigned work orders generated through the OIT Services Help Desk.

Assist and instruct users in connecting to the University network. Examines possible issues caused by credentials, physical limitations or outages, interpreting the best process for resolution, and creating new processes for problem resolution. Follow up on unresolved customer calls, using discretion to engage other OIT staff members and campus resources as needed, in order to resolve user problems in a timely and efficient manner.

Be fiscally responsible with managing the IT budget, and management of Overtime budget.

Be part of IT coverage rotation for the morning, evening, and weekend classes. Provide A/V coverage for events as needed.

Procure and manage A/V hardware, computer hardware, and software licensing, and deployment. Support Facilities technology needs.

Assist the Marketing department in supporting the website and domain reservations. This includes troubleshooting problems and working with website vendors on resolutions.

Manage content for webpages specific to IT, which includes, but not limited to, IT resources guides for staff, faculty, and guests, and badge access form portals.

Provide recommendations on IT facility construction and renovation requirements.

Develop and document routine procedures. Create and update software/operations tutorials, instructions guides, and checklists for new/updated software in a timely fashion as necessary.

Research opportunities to improve IT procedures, operations and functions to support classrooms, computer labs, and staff.

Serve as a representative of the Unit at campus meetings and events designated by the Director of Finance or the Vice Chancellor of South Denver.

Attend workshops and conferences as approved, network with professional colleagues and keep up to date on professional issues facing museum and higher education technology.

Ensure that applicable CU policies and Administrative Policy Statements are executed consistently and accurately in the Information Technology Unit.

Develop communication and feedback channels to ensure a positive working relationship between South Denver and CU Denver|Anschutz administrative units.

Perform annual evaluations and full supervision of IT Unit staff members.

Propose and execute projects as required by the Director of Finance or the Vice Chancellor of South Denver.

Present and maintain an organized, positive, and welcoming environment for all CU South Denver constituents.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, crawl, climb, stoop, kneel, talk, smell and hear. The employee needs the ability to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects and reach with hands and arms. Ability to climb stairs and stepladders.

The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a daily basis. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Salary and Benefits:
The hiring salary has been established at $73,295/yr and is non-negotiable.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
-
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or in a related field.
-
Substitution: Applicable work experience which provided the same kind, amount and level of knowledge acquired in the required education, may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the bachelor’s degree.

At least two (2) years supervisory experience in an IT general support position.
-
Experience supporting computer hardware and software.
-
Experience with videoconferencing technologies
-
Experience using remote computer access or maintenance software
-
Experience with virus or malware removal applications
-
Experience with back-end development in open source content management systems, WordPress preferred
Preferred Qualifications:

University of Colorado IT support experience

Higher education or museum/event rental IT experience

Experience with Outlook 365

Experience with Web conferencing

Experience supporting Macintosh computers

Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and domains

Experience with website hosting and domain registration providers used for various marketing campaigns

Experience with access layer of the three-tier network model
