Graphic Designer
Poly Prep Country Day School is seeking an on-site temporary part time graphic designer from September 2018 through December 2018. This role will conceptualize and create marketing and communications assets to support Poly’s brand and other school goals. A significant portion of the projects will be revising and updating existing design files. The on-site work schedule is flexible; we estimate no more than 20 hours per week. Examples of responsibilities include the following:

Designing print and digital marketing materials and assets which may include postcards, print ads, invitations, event signage, promo items, and graphics for web and social

Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts for design while utilizing a meticulous attention to detail

Planning and managing project production to keep within time limitations

Preparing final files for print and digital production; working closely with printers to assure quality, decide upon paper selections, budget limits, and timeliness of delivery

Collaborating with Senior Manager of Communications to create production calendars based on requested project deadlines

Ability to self-manage and work on multiple assignments simultaneously under strict deadlines

Keeping new and updated design files organized for future reference

Communicating effectively, and consulting with immediate supervisor and stakeholders, throughout the design process and help maintain a positive and collaborative environment

Designing within the brand style; upholding brand standards; reviewing usage of logo and other brand elements as needed
Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience

Minimum of two years of experience in graphic design and production with a strong understanding of layout and typography across print and digital media

Advanced skill in the use of the latest versions of Adobe Creative Suite, Creative Cloud- especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign-to produce layouts, create designs and design elements, and to manipulate and incorporate photography into designs

Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and articulate ideas and concerns to collaborators

Must be able to work onsite at Poly’s Dyker Heights campus in Brooklyn; 20 hours per week (days/hours are flexible)
