The Visual Design Specialist will work under the Director of Communications to take ownership of the design, and maintenance of the Stuart’s website, visual branding and design of official school communication, marketing-related school photography and video.

Responsibilities:

  • Visual brand management: own and maintain Stuart brand guidelines, as well as design, layout and photography for Stuart’s online and printed marketing efforts

  • Photography and video production of students, faculty/staff and the school’s special events and catalog and maintain digital archives of photography, video and other digital media

  • Management of Stuart website design and content layout with goal of driving traffic, engagement and leads in support of admissions enrollment, retention, donor support and word of mouth efforts at Stuart

  • Layout and design of Stuart News Magazine and Annual Report

  • Support for content development, online community-building and lead generation initiatives

  • Collaborate across functions and departments with design, photography, video, and marketing to meet the school’s marketing and communications goals and objectives

  • Project scheduling, management, tracking and follow-up

  • Support development of other web-related initiatives as needed

  • Ability to work after hours as needed for school events

  • All other duties as assigned.

Skills & Requirements

Qualifications:

  • A four-year college degree required

  • Excellent graphic design skills: ability to work with a wide range of media graphic design software

  • Excellent photography and video production skills

  • Experience with design and maintenance of a school, non-profit or business website a plus

  • Ability to think creatively and develop new design concepts, graphics and layouts

  • Ability to work closely with a team to conceive, create and execute design work for both print and electronic media in support of the school’s goals.

  • Ability to work with all levels of administration and staff, faculty, students and parents -- handling confidential, time-sensitive and critical details

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask and manage multiple projects in a cross-functional environment

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to adjust to dynamically-changing priorities; detail oriented with good follow-up skills

  • Strong technical acumen
