This position specializes in the development and expansion of online offerings on campus. This position also oversees the training and support of faculty, staff and students in learning technologies. This position will meet regularly with key positions on campus to assess the learning technology needs.  

 

Qualifications: 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in related field required; master’s degree preferred 

  2. Minimum of three years’ experience working in an academic setting 

  3. A strong commitment to the university’s mission 

  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, etc.) 

  5. Experience with Moodle and Google platforms required 

  6. A thorough understanding of traditional and adult learners and programs necessary 

  7. The ability to work harmoniously with faculty, staff, and administration 

  8. High level of personal initiative, creativity, flexibility and multi-tasking a necessity

Essential Functions: 

  1. Manage the expansion and administration of online offerings and oversee development and production timelines 

  2. Meet regularly with deans, division chairs, academic office and IT to assess needs and guide development 

  3. Assist in the development of academic policies and procedures specific to online offerings  

  4. Develop procedures and standards for online instruction 

  5. Assist faculty in the design and production of face-to-face, online, and hybrid offerings on the learning management system  

  6. Train faculty on online pedagogies and learning technologies 

  7. Train faculty, students, and staff on the learning management system and provide end-user support 

  8. Manage the learning management system and our third-party host 

  9. Oversee the online student orientation process for all programs and present at physical orientations as requested 

  10. Serve on the Technology Advisory Group and other groups as assigned 

  11. Assess existing policies and procedures for more effective ways to operate 

  12. Maintain effective communication with University relating to coordination of learning management system offerings
