Assistant Professor of Instructional Technology
The Department of Leadership, Technology, and Human Development in the College of Education invites nominations and applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Instructional Technology. This position is located on the Statesboro campus, but may require teaching on the other campuses.
Position Description. Reporting to the department chair, the Assistant Professor of Instructional Technology position requires teaching, service, and scholarship responsibilities, as well as a terminal degree. Additional position responsibilities include the maintenance of an active research agenda involving regular publications and professional presentations in appropriate venues. The position is a 10-month, tenure-track appointment, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Required Qualifications:

Earned doctorate in Instructional Technology, or a closely related area, by August 1, 2019

Ability to design and teach graduate and/or undergraduate courses (online and face-to- face)

Potential to conduct and disseminate research (independently and/or collaboratively) related to instructional technology or school library media

Ability to use and model technology in instruction and research

Experience working with diverse student populations

Effective communication skills

Must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of employment without assistance from the institution.

Ability to offer graduate advisement

Research interest in the areas of school library media, K-12 technology integration, and/or emerging instructional technologies such as makerspaces and computational thinking
