Purpose
To provide support and assist with audio and video installations throughout the College of Fine Arts with a focus on its exceptional programs at the Department of Art and Art History, Butler School of Music, Department of Theatre and Dance and the School of Design and Creative Technologies.
Essential Functions
Provide Tier 1 and 2 support to faculty, staff, students and guests in the use of technology for teaching, with explicit concern for the unique teaching and learning goals of an artistically diverse population. Document all support calls, incidents and problems. Provide routine and as assigned maintenance to ensure properly performing installations for the instructional technology presentation systems in the College of Fine Arts. Assist with the installation process including receiving, prepping and preassembly for the instructional technology installation of presentation systems in the College of Fine Arts. Perform scheduled and as assigned preventative pre-checks for the college's instructional technology presentation installations. Document, remediate or quickly report any issues with the equipment, room, furniture, or facilities. Provide tutorials to faculty, staff, students and guest in the use of the college's technology installations for teaching, with explicit concern for the unique teaching and learning goals of an artistically diverse population. Create documentation to facilitate self-help for users, how to get technical assistance. Assist the college's instructional technology designer with the design of teaching technologies for installations in the College of Fine Arts. Research new technologies to meet the instructional A/V needs of the colleg's faculty, staff, students and guests. Accurately document processes, inventory, configurations, programming, incidents/issues, and any other important institutional information in appropriate systems.

Required qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of presentation technologies in the academic environment, particularly for instruction in a classroom environment; Experience installing instructional technology systems; Experience maintaining, supporting and documenting instructional technology systems and trouble calls; Excellent communication skills; Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills; Ability to meet rigorous deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with support and installation at UT Austin or other higher education institutions. Experience working directly with faculty. Initiative to learn more about the teaching needs of faculty and industry solutions; Experience designing instructional technology systems; Knowledge of and configuring wired networks; Experience with web-based applications; Experience with remote support and configuration tools; Knowledge of Crestron graphical user interfaces. Experience with Macintosh, Windows and iOS computer platforms. Bachelor's Degree or higher.

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
