Assistant Director of Enrollment IT Systems
Working under the supervision of the Director of Enrollment IT Systems, the Assistant Director of Enrollment IT Systems will support the implementation and maintenance of all computer systems for Enrollment Management. The incumbent will work with and communicate with UMass Boston Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) to troubleshoot equipment and database problems as they arise.
Examples of Duties:

Under the supervision of the Director of Enrollment IT Systems, serve as the division’s liaison for generating and supporting data for various third party data interfaces;

Support staff with technical issues and service requests using Dell Kace ticketing system;

Support hardware and software utilized throughout the division of Enrollment Management; troubleshoot, repair and install PCs and peripherals;
-
Maintain a running inventory of computers and other equipment for which the division of Enrollment Management is responsible for;
-
Maintain the Enrollment Management kiosks;
-
Serve as backup system administrator for the division of Enrollment Management servers, including monitoring of backup jobs and server processes;

Work closely with the Director of Enrollment IT Systems to implement and plan for Enrollment Management information technology needs and budget;

Work with director on deployment of new systems within the division;

Support the integration of a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and serve as back-up system administrator for the division;

Supervise and direct graduate and undergraduate assistants;

Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS or a closely related field and a minimum of three-five (3-5) years of professional experience in identifying, designing, implementing and supporting a sophisticated and complex computerized registration and record systems, preferably in a higher education setting required. Experience with end-user reporting tools required.
Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Information Technology or a closely related field strongly preferred;

Prior experience with PeopleSoft and Dell Kace preferred;

Prior programming experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of and experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting and repairing personal computers, printers and other peripherals;

Knowledge of and experience with local area networks;

Knowledge of and experience with Windows XP, 7, 8, 10 and server 2003, 2008, 2012;

Knowledge of and experience with Mac OS and iOS;

Knowledge of active directory management and AD policies;

Basic Knowledge of programming languages;

Familiarity with multiple software platforms and operating systems, including MS office, Dell Kace, document imaging and PC imaging software;

Ability to work collaboratively with individuals and groups from a wide variety of backgrounds;

Ability to work in a team environment on multiple projects simultaneously;

Ability to prioritize assignments and projects and multi-task;

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;

Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds, as incumbent will be setting up printers, computers and peripherals;
