Technology Specialist The School of Business is seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated, well-organized and reliable candidate to fill the position of Technology Specialist. The successful candidate will exhibit a high-level of technical understanding and ability to provide support with a professional demeanor. This is a full-time classified staff position with full benefits. Responsibilities: This position ensures the timely availability of electronic resources to faculty, staff and students of the School of Business and its associated programs. The incumbent will develop, maintain and research the resolutions needed for technical problems experienced by users of electronic resources within the school. The incumbent further ensures that electronic information resources used within the school adhere to university policies for security, and operate in optimal configurations for performing their intended function. The incumbent further assists faculty and staff in maintaining the workstation assigned for their use; quickly identifying hardware problems and developing and/or following written procedures for rectifying configuration issues. The incumbent will also investigate, test and implement; or otherwise apply current or emerging technologies for applications designed to enhance productivity and accessibility of technology resources in the school. The incumbent will be responsible for supply, inventory, and developing documentation. Qualifications:
Preference will be given to those who have: (1) more than one year of professional experience in supporting technical environments, and (2) completed an information technology-related bachelor’s degree or are upcoming graduates who are majoring in an information technology-related bachelor’s degree. Standard working hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m., but alternate working hours may be occasionally required to ensure adequate coverage of technology needs within the school. |
