MINIMUM NUMBER OF YEARS AND TYPE OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of Information Security experience, with a minimum 2 years of experience supporting Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems in large and complex environments.

  • Experience developing and reporting on metrics relevant to securing enterprise systems.

  • Demonstrated experience providing outstanding customer service.

  • Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to nurture openness, honesty, trust and mutual respect across distributed organizations.

  • Demonstrated experience working as a change agent of technical, operational and managerial controls.

  • Must hold or obtain within six months an appropriate, management-oriented security certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM or GSEC). 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge or professional certification in Information Security Audit.

  • Large enterprise experience with PeopleSoft HCM, Finance, and/or Campus Solutions.

  • Two years of experience with information systems project management practices and techniques, including estimating, task planning, scheduling, and change control.

  • Experience with leveraging, integrating, securing and managing enterprise Cloud solutions.

  • Experience in an environment providing both central and distributed IT services while serving a broad spectrum of stakeholders and customers.

  • Experience preparing and managing complex budgets.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The System Services Group Enterprise System Cybersecurity Manager (SSG-Cybersecurity) directs the operational, financial, and personnel activities of the SSG Cybersecurity Team. This team is responsible for implementing, supporting, operating and monitoring security controls to protect enterprise business applications for UW System in the Common Systems Review Group (CSRG) portfolio. The primary responsibility for this position is to ensure these systems are secure and protected from unauthorized use or access, compliant with federal and state regulations, and conform to UW System Administration security policies. 

The position will coordinate with the Office of Cybersecurity Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) domain to proactively identify and communicate security risk, threats and vulnerabilities; recommend solutions to the governance groups, functional staff, technical staff and management to maintain a repeatable security program. The scope includes the support of system and application owners in the CSRG funded portfolio including, but not limited to, the UW System Service Center and UW System Shared Financial Services. 

The position reports to the director of SSG with a secondary reporting relationship to the Office of Cybersecurity. The SSG Cybersecurity unit will operate as a delegated unit of the Office of Cybersecurity and will therefore operate under the same umbrella cybersecurity policies such as the Risk Management Framework. The position is expected to maintain a strong collaborative relationship with the Office of Cybersecurity with open communication and sharing of information.
