Communicates with stakeholders and team members about best practices for building efficient, extensible, standards-based websites.

Assists in designing website features that solve challenges using a variety of applications and technologies.

Provides leadership to website editors and serves as a technical resource on web-related issues including site design, development, content creation, website templates, analytics, usability and information architecture.

Identifies problems uncovered by testing or customer feedback, and corrects problems or refers problems to appropriate personnel for correction.

Assists with the establishment of integrated web policies, directions, and standards for the University, departments, and administrative units.

Trains site editors and works closely with Marketing, Communications, and University departments to provide a seamless process and continuous exploration of innovative ideas for web communication.

Confers with management or development teams to prioritize needs, resolves conflicts, develops functional criteria, or chooses appropriate solutions.

Develops application architecture that may be used in the case of disaster recovery or catastrophic failure of systems

Evaluates code to ensure that it is valid, is properly structured, is secure, meets industry standards and is compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems.

Maintains understanding of current web technologies or programming practices through continuing education, reading, or participation in professional conferences, workshops, or groups.
