System Administrator
Minimum Qualifications |
Demonstrated willingness to learn more about operating systems, scripting, virtualization, system security, system development tools, and performance and tuning considerations. Some experience installing operating systems on local computers or network devices. Some experience problem-solving system issues from a Help Desk perspective may be helpful. Bachelor’s degree in major that includes exposure to operating systems, such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Communications, Engineering, or another closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills. Ability to work independently as a contributing team member and routinely update director on results. Ability to contribute to group projects and work collaboratively as a member of a strong technical team. Ability to travel once or twice a year for education, professional development, or conferences. Ability to perform light lifting as appropriate for equipment installations and maintenance. Flexibility in work schedule; willingness to occasionally adjust work hours on Wednesdays between midnight and 8 A.M. for the maintenance. No weekends except in emergencies; no on-call rotation. Must live in the area; this is not a remote work position. Writing sample should include a document you have created for anything related to this line of work. Work sample should include a code or scripting example in your choice or programming or scripting language that you have written to accomplish a specific system administration task. |

Desired Qualifications |
One year experience, as a student employee or professional employee, in a production information systems environment. Working knowledge of operating systems and systems implementation. Technical certifications such as Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), CompTIA Linux+, Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA), CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, or Cisco Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) are highly beneficial. |

We are looking for a skilled enthusiast interested in the successful operation of our systems server environment. We have a large implementation of virtual and cloud-based servers.
