The Manager will be accountable for implementing an Audiovisual (AV) strategy in Learning Spaces throughout the University.  This strategy includes delivering the latest technologies that are simple to use, relevant, cost-effective, and meet all cybersecurity standards.

Essential Duties

Provide leadership, direction, and technical expertise for the Campus Technology and Integration team charged with the design and deployment of AV solutions across ASU. The applicant should have a clear understanding of the guiding principles behind and the demands of providing a consistent and standardized AV experience to a diverse client base.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to design and build innovative multimedia solutions for various Learning Spaces

  • Creating technical documentation for processes and procedures

  • Building multimedia packages based on complex audio and video gear

  • Researching and understanding the latest in AV tools and trends, especially AV over IP

  • Serving as the expert/liaison for AV and cybersecurity standards

  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues with existing AV infrastructure and equipment

  • Training, mentoring, supervising, and evaluating team members and student employees using established guidelines

  • Effectively communicating solutions and plans to clients and front line support staff

 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or related field AND five years of related experience, which includes three years of supervisory experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience providing service to a diverse client base, preferably in an educational setting; experience coordinating the time and work efforts of a large team

  • Experience working in a lead position, including management of full time and student employees

  • Experience working with internal groups and outside vendors to collaborate on projects, problem solve, or design solutions to technical issues

  • Experience managing complex AV design and installation projects

  • Evidence of being a Certified Installation Microcredentials (AVIXA)

  • Evidence of being a Certified Technology Specialist (CTS/-D/-I)

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the fundamentals of Networking;

  • Evidence of certifications from AMX, Cisco (CCENT), Extron, and Bi-Amp

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the following software applications: AutoCAD, MS Project and Visio, and Bluebeam Studio.

 

Working Environment

Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing and walking; frequent physical demands may include stooping, bending, crawling under/around objects, reaching, lifting and pushing objects of varying weights up to 50 pounds; regularly required to work in cramped and enclosed areas and exposure to variations in temperature when deploying equipment. Regular review of completed tasks.
