Job Summary
Responsible for the coordination and successful completion of projects. Oversees all phases of a project: initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, closing. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of projects. Builds and maintains working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects. Ensures project objectives and met and business value is obtained.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities

Leads planning and implementation of assigned projects.

Defines project tasks and resource requirement.

Plans and develops project plans and timelines.

Tracks project deliverables and monitors budget expenditures using standard project management tools.

Continuously monitors and reports on progress and quality activities of the project to all stakeholders.

Implements and manages project change management, risk management and mitigation actions to achieve project success.

Coordinates and/or facilitates project kick-off meetings, workshops, and other meeting formats within the scope of the project.

Performs appropriate project closure that includes evaluation, assessment of results and closure documents.

Lead, coach and motivate project team members on a proactive basis.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalency and 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

2-5 of those years as a project manager on cross-functional IT projects.

Bachelors degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering or related discipline.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred

Ability to influence and achieve results from individuals and groups without having direct authority.

Proficient with project management tools

Strong communication skills (written, oral and listening) with the ability to present effectively to large and small audiences

Strong leadership and project management skills

Demonstrated use of expert judgment and experience in problem-solving project issues/roadblocks

Ability to manage effectively in a cross-functional environment, working closely with all aspects of the business including marketing, operations, infrastructure, academic, finance and information technology

Experienced with waterfall and agile project methods and ability to determine best-suited method for a particular project

Familiarity withSDLCmodels, process/workflow analysis and improvement methods, Quality Assurance principals and practices, and UI design principals

Ability to work with stakeholders in all levels of the organization

Experience with Higher Education preferred
