Temporary Sr. Graphic Designer
Sidwell Friends, a PK-12, co-educational Quaker day school in Washington, DC, seeks a Temporary Senior Graphic Designer for an assignment that will last until early May 2019. Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer, the Senior Graphic Designer will help to create visual continuity for our online and print materials, and collaborate with other members of the Office of Communications and colleagues across the School. The successful candidate will be able to think creatively and take the initiative to produce outstanding print and digital designs that consistently communicate the integrity and spirit of Sidwell Friends. He/she will be a consummate professional who manages relationships with care and thinks strategically to produce the best possible pieces to enhance the reputation of the School. He/she will be conscientious about deadlines, time, and resources.
A bachelor’s degree in graphic design, art, or communications, and at least five years of relevant professional experience, are required. The successful candidate will have a design style that matches the Sidwell Friends sensibility. Experience working with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge or Lightroom, and other creative professional software, is also required. A sense of humor, a commitment to excellence, the ability to meet deadlines, and an appreciation for the Quaker values underlying the School are all highly desirable and appreciated. This position may involve some evening and weekend work.
