Instructional Technology Specialist
The University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Medicine is seeking an Instructional Technology Specialist for the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science (PTRS). This will support and serve as a back-up to the Senior IT Specialist, providing daily guidance and support to faculty, staff (administrative and research), and professional students in multiple doctoral (DPT, PhD) academic programs to effectively use instructional/information technology applications and/or equipment. This position supports faculty and staff computer hardware software issues both on the Windows and Mac platforms.

Essential Functions

Collaborates with faculty and the Sr. IT Specialist on training plans and blended learning implementation strategies and in the design and customization of curriculum and provide consultation on course media use.

Trouble shoots, diagnoses, resolves, and follows through on complex computer/information technology problems.

Provides daily support and advice to faculty, staff and students in effectively using instructional technology applications and/or equipment.

Coordinate the deployment, maintenance, support and upgrade of computers (Windows and Mac platforms) hardware, software, operating systems, and distributed printers.

Assists with administrative duties within the IT procurement and inventory management function. Maintains records and creates multiple databases to manage and track licenses, warranties, service agreements for the PTRS hardware and software.

Assist in managing the department's presence on the web in design and integration of special learning features.

Conducts formal presentations in the use of specific technology materials.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelors in Computer Services, Graphic or Instructional Design, or related field
Experience: Two (2) years of experience with audio/visual, multimedia, video production, or IT resources.
Or equivalent of six (6) years combination of business audio/visual, multimedia, video production, or IT education/training or instructional design experience
Preferred: Experience providing support for Windows and Mac platforms and/or learning management systems, Blackboard. Experience working with ItunesU media development and management.
Other: May consider a combination of directly related experience and education.
