Design Technology/Woodworking Teacher
University School seeks a full-time Design Technology/Woodworking teacher for the 2019-2020 school year. The ideal candidate will have formal experience in design technology education, woodworking, and/or 3D art/design and will hold an undergraduate or graduate degree in a related field.
He or she will be responsible for managing the direction of a dynamic 5th-8th grade woodshop/3D design class, mentoring and inspiring students, developing cross-curricular, hands-on projects, educating students on the use of hand and power tools while creating a safe environment, and introducing basic computer-aided design programs. He or she will also provide design support for special projects in the Lower School and support the arts department through set design and construction. Outside of the classroom, the candidate should be eager to contribute to the larger life of the school and may serve as an advisor to a small group of students.
