Information Technology Education Teacher or CTE: Engineering and Architecture
DESCRIPTION:
Under the supervision of the Principal or designee, plan, implement, monitor and assess a classroom instructional program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Create a physical environment that engages all students.

Establish and maintain standards of student behavior.

Establish a system of student evaluation within the guidelines prescribed in State law.
-
Timely evaluate and record various aspects of students’ progress and report to parents as required.
-
Communicate with students, families and other audiences about student progress.
-
Teach within the course of study for subject area or at grade level as prescribed in State law or as may be adopted by the District.
-
Plan and implement standards-based lessons.
-
Provided planned learning experiences using a variety of instructional methods and strategies in order to motivate students.
-
Collect and use multiple sources of information to assess student learning.
-
Cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and assisting students.
-
Provide varied instruction as appropriate in order to attempt to adapt the curriculum to the needs of the students.

Perform basic attendance accounting tasks as required.
-
Observe professional working hours as designated by the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
-
Work with communities, families and colleagues to improve professional practice.
-
Supervise students in out-of-classroom activities as required by the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
-
Perform adjunct duties as designated by the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Share the responsibility of communicating the educational program to the community.

Establish professional goals and pursue opportunities to grow professionally.

Provide lesson plans for substitutes.

Plan and coordinate the work of aides and other paraprofessionals and student teachers (when applicable).

Perform other related Teacher duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training, and Experience:
-
Valid Teaching Credential related to specific assignment.
-
Must have EL Authorization.
-
Must be NCLB Compliant.
-
Must have successful student teaching or teaching experience.
-
Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance.
Knowledge of:
-
Principles, theories, practices, methods and techniques used in curriculum development and classroom instruction.

Classroom procedures which promote appropriate student conduct and motivation for student learning.
Skill and Ability to:

Ability to adapt plans to meet different needs of students.

Ability to create an instructional program and class environment favorable to learning and personal growth.

Ability to establish effective rapport with students.

Ability to motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for education, in accordance with each student’s ability.

Ability to monitor students in classrooms.

Proof of Satisfactory Health:
Physical examination by school-designated physician upon original employment may be required. Testing for tuberculosis (skin test or chest x-ray) is required upon employment and every four years thereafter.
