Innovation and Technology Teacher
Sun Valley Community School is looking for an experienced and inspirational Innovation and Technology Teacher to begin on or before August 12, 2019. This position is a full-time teaching position, with benefits.
The primary roles are to teach technology, computer science, engineering design, and maker skills, as well as collaborate with faculty to design and coordinate interdisciplinary activities to promote innovative learning. The ideal candidate will have a passion for making, design thinking, project-based learning, and STEM education as well as experience or interest in working in a student-centered, collaborative, and inquiry-based educational environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee the Makers’ Lab
-
Develop and implement design opportunities
-
Coordinate the learning of the ES/MS Technology curriculum
-
Teach contemporary high school Computer Science classes (i.e. Coding, Programming, etc.)

Develop and implement an effective and relevant Digital Citizenship program
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates who wish to be considered for this position should have:

Experience in independent school educational settings;

Exemplary technology, communication, collaborative, and organizational skills;

Experience and/or an educational background with coding, programming, and design thinking;

A strong work ethic and a willingness to initiate, and the ability to anticipate needs;

A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion;

A Bachelor’s degree, with a preference for an advanced degree;

A willingness to live in a small, vibrant resort community in the Rocky Mountains.
