Academic Technology Integrationist

The Academic Technology Integrationist works as a member of the Information and Innovation team. Working in close connection with the library staff, s/he is a successful collaborator between technologists, faculty members and students, and maintains key partnerships to effectively implement the vision and direction of academic technology at Kent Denver. S/he will also participate in other relevant technology projects, trainings, and meetings as a member of the Information and Innovation Team and perform other duties as assigned.
Duties and responsibilities for this position:
Learning Commons Staffing
- In conjunction with our librarians, effectively manage the two learning commons: the Duncan Center and the Centennial Center, including creating welcoming spaces for students and faculty, and providing opportunities for studying, collaboration, and instruction
- Assist students and teachers in troubleshooting technology and printing problems
Implementing Academic Technology Vision and Direction
- Assist in designing Kent Denver’s academic technology strategy and manage the implementation of academic technology goals
- Lead technology professional development to onboard, train, and support Kent Denver faculty and students in Kent Denver’s academic technologies
- In conjunction with our Director of Information Management, facilitate access, support, and training for faculty and students to utilize our LMS (Canvas) and SIS (Blackbaud)
- Instruct teachers and staff in the vetting and responsible use of academic technology, advocating current practices of digital citizenship to students and teachers
- Support other school-wide projects requiring academic technology expertise
Integrating Academic Technology into Classrooms
- Collaborate with teachers on planning and implementing projects, platforms, software, and hardware that integrate academic technology in the classroom
- Create and maintain easy to follow online training and documentation for academic technology
- In partnership with classroom teachers, support the collection and use of data to further classroom instructional goals
- Support students and teachers who are working on individual class projects
Working with Students
- Assist in teaching in Kent Denver’s Freshmen Innovation course
- Work in our impact studios to teach and support students in individual technology projects
- Be a part of Kent Denver’s Institute of Technology and Design by supporting, advising, coaching and supervising individualized student-directed projects related to technology and design, including independent studies
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher required. Master’s degree in Educational Technology or related field strongly preferred
- Experience with Learning Management Systems and Student Information Systems, and other technologies
- Previous work in a school environment is necessary, preferably with teenagers
- Must be personable, friendly, and empathetic with students and teachers at all times
- Should have a growth mindset, receptive to feedback, and be comfortable ushering people through the change process
- Must be able to manage projects, collaborate with others, and speak in front of groups of people
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems
- Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple projects, task, and requests
Employment
- Salary $48,000-$58,000 depending on experience
- 40-50 hours per week
- Benefits include health, retirement and dental
- 4 weeks paid vacation (primarily taken in summer) with 1 additional week vacation over spring break and 1 additional week vacation over winter break
