The Boys’ Latin School of Maryland, an independent K-12 boys’ school, is seeking a Lower School Technology Coordinator for the 2019-2020 academic year. The technology coordinator will provide classroom instruction and technology coordination to kindergarten through fifth grade students and faculty. Ideal candidates will have teaching experience in a lower school setting, keen insight into elementary-aged boys, and comprehensive knowledge of the intellectual, social, emotional and physical developmental needs of lower school boys. The ideal candidates will also have a passion for leading and enhancing an already successful lower school technology program including a competitive robotics program.
Responsibilites and skills

Enrich and support teaching and learning while strengthening the technological skills of students, teachers, and staff.

Assist teachers in using technology to assess student learning, differentiate instruction, and provide relevant and engaging learning experiences for all.

Support faculty development by facilitating growth in academic uses of technology, best practices, and effective utilization strategies, including one-on-one instructional coaching and professional development workshops.

Develop, integrate, and manage the lower school’s robotics program and competitive FIRST LEGO LEAGUE teams.

Ensure curriculum alignment that promotes student proficiency in digital citizenship, coding, digital media, and ethical use of technology.

Work as part of a school-wide technology team to guide and implement the appropriate use of classroom technology focusing on the needs of the Lower School.

Collaborate with the Technology Director to develop both short-term and long-term technology plans that evaluate the effectiveness of the instructional technology program.

Compile and maintain the physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required through the Blackbaud Student Information System.

Develop a technology resource environment through the Blackbaud Learning Management System that can be easily accessed by teachers, non-instructional staff, students, and parents.
- Support the use of the G Suite and SMARTBoards by teachers, non-instructional staff, and students.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree is required, while an advanced Educational Technology degree is preferred. The ideal candidate will have lower school teaching experience and proficiency with SMARTBoards , LEGO mindstorms software and EV3 robots. An interest in working with boys, an appreciation for single-sex education, and a willingness to be involved in all facets of school life will be valued.
