Advertised Job Summary |
The IT Manager will plan, organize and supervise the daily operations of a variety of information technology devices and systems within a healthcare environment that clinically operates through an electronic medical record with multiple interfaces and devices. They will be responsible for developing innovative network troubleshooting methods that enhances security, efficiency, lower costs and reduces the risk of down time. The IT Manager will ensure that systems are maintained within a HIPAA environment and will work collaboratively with a variety of department managers to include physicians, nurses, counselors, support staff, the University’s Information Technology department and software vendors to determine upgrades and growth needs. Individual will develop and monitor the IT yearly budget, supervise the help desk ticketing system and will provide complex technical support. Individual will assist in the management of the health center’s website. Responsible for the supervision of assigned staff and exercises the usual authority concerning staffing, performance appraisals and discipline, as well as training staff on a variety of IT software and systems, and will be responsible for creating and administering disaster and security plans in compliance with HIPAA in the event of a crisis. |

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions) |
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology Systems, business administration or related field and 4 years experience in computer operations or a related field; or equivalency |
Preferred Qualifications |
Experience with electronic health information systems, HIPAA security regulations and working within a health care environment are highly desirable. Prior supervisory experience preferred and experience generating complex reports, analyzing and providing solutions to complex problems. Experience with practices, procedures and control techniques associated with confidentiality, integrity and functional knowledge of network security defenses. Familiar with project management concepts. Experience with HL-7 interfaces. |
